Gold Medal, 2023 National WineAlign Awards of Canada
Like the previous two renditions of the Sacrilege, this is a wine that lives somewhere in between the margins of traditional red and white winemaking. V.2022: A light red? A very dark rosé? Call it what you like. It’s a fruit-forward, juicy, drinkable wine somewhat akin to what you might expect from Gamay. However, no Gamay was harmed in the making of this wine. Whole berry, gently extracted Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir; carbonic whole cluster Merlot; and a little barrel fermented Cabernet Sauvignon rosé marry together in this succulent thirst-quenching red. Chill slightly and enjoy all summer!
