ABOUT US

The Scene

How in the world did you find us?
pllx-church-dark-Enhanced

We are a second-generation, family-owned, small boutique winery located on the renowned Beamsville Bench of the Niagara Peninsula. Our little parcel of south-facing land hangs over the hillside edges of the Bench, and provides an ideal environment for cool climate winegrowing.

We farm the land ourselves, and assist in the winemaking throughout all stages of the process. Our production volumes are very small. We purposefully lean towards the passion side of the business, rather than the commercial.

We are genuinely proud of the wines we produce, and welcome you to try them soon.

The great people that are responsible for bringing you our Award winning wines

Ania De Duleba

Proprietor

Ania De Duleba

When Ania’s parents, Krystyna and Jan Tarasewicz, bought a parcel of land in Beamsville in 1998 and told her that they planned to plant vines and start a winery one day, she thought they had certifiably lost their minds.

Fast forward to over 25 years later, Ania and her husband Edward are now second-generation wine-growers, producing quality, small-batch wines from their 40-acre family estate vineyard on the Beamsville Bench.

Greg Yemen

Winemaker

Greg Yemen

Greg Yemen discovered his passion for winemaking while working as a finishing carpenter on Vancouver Island. After moving back to Ontario with his wife, he enrolled in the Niagara College Winery Program and gained experience at a family-owned winery in Vineland. Greg joined The Organized Crime Winery in 2014, becoming winemaker in 2016. Uniquely, he farms the grapes alongside owners Ania de Duleba and Edward Zaski, dividing his time between the vineyard and cellar. Greg’s winemaking philosophy adapts to each vintage, aiming for balance and elegance to reflect the vineyard’s site and season. He takes a minimalist approach to the Chardonnay program, striving to craft the best wine possible.

We are grateful to the associates of the Jordan Historical Museum, who kindly provided us with insights on this intriguing pipe organ incident. Please do visit the Museum if ever you should be touring Niagara Wine Country. It is well worthwhile.

Ania De Duleba

Proprietor

When Ania’s parents, Krystyna and Jan Tarasewicz, bought a parcel of land in Beamsville in 1998 and told her that they planned to plant vines and start a winery one day, she thought they had certifiably lost their minds.

Fast forward to over 25 years later, Ania and her husband Edward are now second-generation wine-growers, producing quality, small-batch wines from their 40-acre family estate vineyard on the Beamsville Bench

Luckily, Ania has always had a passion for food and wine; and, at her mother’s suggestion, Ania began her wine education in 2009 with an introductory course through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Finding she had an aptitude for wine-tasting, she took WSET courses all the way to the two-year Diploma Level.

When Ania’s mother Krystyna became terminally ill in 2016, Ania began working at the winery while simultaneously helping with her mother’s care. When Krystyna tragically passed in October 2016, a deep void was left in the tasting room, where her sense of humour and no-nonsense attitude reigned. Ania stayed on, working beside her step-father Jan, until he retired four years later.

In 2020, Ania and Edward left their Toronto lives behind, and embarked on a new journey in the world of wine, taking over The Organized Crime Winery. Ania and Ed like to joke, “we’ve always been cheap labour for our parents, so we didn’t come into this industry completely blind.” They knew it would be hard, but rewarding work. Ania is responsible for all ‘indoor operations’, and can be found helping out on busy days in the tasing room, while also managing all licensee & LCBO business, marketing & sales initiatives, wine club, and general operational duties.

When not working at the winery, Ania loves spending time with her two daughters; eating at fabulous restaurants; visiting art galleries and museums around the world; and reading copious amounts of fiction, with the occasional yoga class thrown in when time allows.
