The 2016 Break-In Pinot Noir is a blend of all four of our Pinot clones. The grapes were handpicked, hand-sorted, and de-stemmed, but not crushed before being fermented. Wild and commercial yeast was used to the ferment and the grapes in neutral French oak fermenters. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, of which 20% were new. This fresh and fragrant wine has expressive notes of strawberry, cherry kirsch, and baking spice. The tannins are fine grained, well integrated, and balanced by lively acidity. A very pleasurable young wine that is eminently drinkable.
